Patrick Lau has over 27 years of investment experience. He joined Cumberland Private Wealth Management Inc. (CPWM or Cumberland) in 2018 and its affiliate Cumberland Investment Counsel Inc. (“CIC”) in 2019 as an international equities analyst and has been deeply involved in investment idea generation and portfolio management in support of Cumberland International Fund, Cumberland Global Fund, segregated Global/EAFE mandates, and the NCM Core Global and Core International mandates at NCM Asset Management Ltd., CIC’s affiliate. He is currently Portfolio Manager for the Kipling Global Enhanced Dividend Fund and NCM Global Income Growth Fund.

Prior to Cumberland, Patrick Lau worked at CI Signature Global Investment Management, where his focus was on global equity growth, dividend and income strategies.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Lau co-managed US and Canadian unlevered, market-neutral long/short equity portfolios at the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.

Patrick Lau had been a global sector specialist covering technology, media, telecom and consumer at RBC Global Asset Management, and worked on Asia ex-Japan & EM mandates at Scotia Cassels.

With a BASc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and experience in software development at Citibank and JTS Systems, Mr. Lau earned an MBA at York University and worked in corporate banking at Scotiabank lending to sub-investment grade accounts before transitioning to the investment industry.

Patrick Lau holds a Chartered Financial Analyst^® designation and is a Professional Engineer of Ontario.
